    Abstract

    Brackish water own high level salinity giving to feel briny at water. Desalinanation process which during the time have been done by evavoration and reverse osmosis. But the way of this high cost . Process alternative which could probably more modestly with ion exchange which during the time a lot of used for industry. This process uses ion exchange resin Amberjet 1200 H+ and Amberjet 4400 OH-. Laboratory scale experiment was conducted using two glass column each with height 60 cm, and diameter 5 cm connective break evenly and each filled by resin kation H+ and anion resin OH-. Experiment was conducted with variation of charge stream at range 100 - 140 ml/menit and span time at range 1,5 - 7,5 hours. Analyse conducted to content Na+ and Cl-. From all conducted variable, result final process after analysis show to bring altogether fulfill clean water criteria pursuant to rule of Permenkes RI N0.907/ MENKES/ SK/ VII/ 2002
