    Abstract

    There are two type of rubbish at ceramic industry, liquid and solid. Liquid rubbish is from water sewage and solid rubbish is from the ceramic pasta that left. Ceramic rubbish is content of particles that most of them contains in pozzolan. Pozzolan certain of silica. This similarity between ceramic rubbish and pozzolan, showed that ceramic rubbish can be used as a material to produce the batako. For the making of batako test object we use the material such as Gresik Portland Cement as a fixed variable, Mojokerto sand and mud as a flexible variable. Variation of ceramic rubbish on sand at each: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. The test including: compressive strength, appearance and porosity. The purpose of this research is two know what’s the effect of adding variation of ceramic rubbish to get the optimal batako compressive strength. From this research, the optimal value to get the standard quality of PERUMNAS batako are made from 18,36%. Ceramic rubbish and mud variation with maximum 194,4 kg/cm2 compressive strength, with porosity value 39,95%.
