    Abstract

    Exploiting of Eceng Gondok during the time not yet been conducted as maximum, only exploited for the making of handicraft, article of furniture,etc. From research which have been conducted to be got pentosan later on processed to become furfural. This matter can be used as by a resolving alternative to problem of environment which during the time a rise effect of existence of crop Eceng Gondok. Hidrolysis of Eceng Gondok run by heating powder of Eceng Gondok with sour catalyst of chloride in treeneck at the same time swirled with speed 200 rpm by continu during and certain temperature. Filtration result of hydrolysis then distillation at temperature 1100 C and time 120 minutes. The result is obtained optimum condition at temperature 1050 C, HCl concentration 4 N with the time 4,5 hour, furfural gfot 26,9 gr/lt Key words : Hydrolysis, Pentosan, Furfural
