      Abstract

      This study was to determine the MOTIF USER SUBSCRIPTION TV SATELLITE TV IN SURABAYA AORA. The increasing technological advances of the revolution, as will the growing need for information and entertainment community, then comes the television world of technology in one of them is Aora Tv Satellite TV subscription. Satellite Tv in Aora subscription, the user charged a fee according to the package of choice. Theory used in this study were MOTIF NEEDS THEORY (Winkle Anwar), THEORY INFORMASIONALISME (Castells) AND SOCIETY JARANGAN (Marshal Mc Luhan). In this theory Castells examine the emergence of society, culture, and the new economy from the viewpoint of the information technology revolution (television, computer, etc.). DETERMINATION THEORY and also use the classification advancement TECHNOLOGY era of human life from age to age, until the electronic era, which explains that media technologies shape how individuals think and behave in society. These technologies will eventually lead people to move from one century to century technology other technology. The study used a descriptive qualitative research methods motif, using the method in depth interview (interviews). The results of this study is the use of tv is mostly, berlanggann enjoy entertainment channel. Conclusions in this study the motives of the users subscribed Aora tv Satellite Tv in Surabaya is the motive of individual needs (individual's needs) is based on the need for entertainment and information.
