        Abstract

        The existence of competition between the increasingly stringent product today requires every company to provide the best for consumers. Quality assurance is one that must be administered and fulfilled by the company to customers. Including the quality of the product. Because the quality of a product is one of the important criteria to be considered when consumers select products. Therefore, the required improvements and a continuous quality improvement - going from a company in accordance with specifications and customer needs. Problems on the concrete roof tiles are still there are many different types of defects such as cracked tiles, tile gumpil, broken roof tiles, roof tiles and porous tiles overflow. this indicates that the quality of concrete roof tiles are still a lot of companies have a shortage. Quality management system only emphasizes the continuous improvement efforts based on self-awareness of management without providing the right solution in terms of breakthroughs to be done to improve quality. The purpose of this study was to measure the level of capability (ability) and the factors that influence disability and determine corrective actions to improve the quality of concrete tile products. The method used to analyze the quality of concrete tile products are (in this study to focus only on the type of concrete tile archipelago) is a continuous improvement cycle of DMAIC. By this method will be obtained by the DPMO and sigma level of quality products. The results showed that the performance of the process during the month of August 2011 - January 2012 generating level 6687 and level DPMO = sigma = 4.0 with a total of 10 318 examinations and 345 defects. Factors - factors affecting these results is due to lack of maintenance and engine lubricants, employees make mistakes, poor-quality material, dirty work environments, so as to determine methods of repair used FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis).
