    Abstract

    Sedimentation conventional basin in the Water Treatment Plant is generally only capable of processing water between 65-70% for total suspended solid. It required the use of plate settler which is one alternative to increase the percentage of total suspended solid reduction in raw water and widening the field of settling surface without enlarging a basin dimension. In this study, plate settler used with a variety of slope angles 30 o , 45 o , 60 o , 75 o , 90 o and shape of the plate settlers are plate, wave and zig-zag. From this study, it was found that the decrease in total suspended solid percentage found on the slope of 60 o plate with a zig-zag shape, with the percentage reduce of total suspended solid is 92.31%. And for reduce turbidity is 92,86%. Keyword: Sedimentation basin, plate settler, total suspended solid, turbidity
