Abstract
Leachate treatment is usually used by biological processes that depend microorganisms as decomposer substrate. Importance of the role and function the kinetics parameter on the biological proses, then needed for research ability of microorganisms to degrade organic matter in the leachate. This study aims to find and determine the value of the parameter μ, Y, Ks, and Kd, which is used in the calculation of biological leachate treatment process. Process is carried in aerobic and the acclimated activated sludge was used in batch reactors with different initial COD concentration (2600, 2100, 1600, 1100, & 600 mg / l). The parameters observed on this research were COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), and MLVSS (Mixed Liquor Volatile Suspended Solids). The research shown that μ values from 0.1027 - 0.5298 (d-1 ), the value of Y = 0.4583 (g VSS / g COD), Ks = 555.47 (mg/ l), μmax = 0.1020 (day -1 ), Yt = 0.4583 (g VSS / g COD ) and the value of Kd = 1.37 x 10-16 (d-1 ).
