Abstract
Bamboo is a plant that contains high organic matter and can be used as an alternative energy by means of briquetting bioarang bamboo pyrolisis process results. In the previous research has been carried out a review of the determination of particle size and compressive strength in the production of briquettes bioarang of bamboo to get the calorific value and flame optimal time. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to examine further the effectiveness of geometric shapes and weight, its effect on the quality of ignition and rate of combustion of a bricket bioarang bamboo. Variable geometry selected was Triangle, Triangle Four, Cylinders, and heavy bricket; 100gr, 200gr, 300gr, 400gr and 500gr. The results from this study treatment is influenced by the ignition quality of the carbonization process and the content of lignin in bamboo and burning rate is influenced by briquetting technologies. The conclusions of this study is the Bamboo Biomass can be recommended as an alternative fuel into briquettes through a process Pyrolisis. Geometric shapes effectiveness that affect the quality of ignition and rate of combustion is a form of Triangle Four moderate amount of weight is directly proportional to the time briquets
