    Abstract

    Glycerol is a byproduct of biodiesel production that needs to be processed into derivatives in order to maximize utilization. The existence of glycerol will overflow when developing biodiesel production. Although glycerol is not toxic, waste disposal glycerol with large volumes will continue to pose a serious impact on the environment and health so that the necessary diversification of glycerol into various derivatives to increase their consumption. Glycerol esterification process is one method that is widely used in the conversion of glycerol. This study aims to assess further reaction process glycerol and benzoic acid using hydrochloric acid catalyst to obtain optimum conditions glyceroltribenzoatproduction process with variations in temperature and the ratio of reactants 0 C
