      Abstract

      One of the new media that is now required by many people in the world is the Internet, where the Internet is a network of thousands of computer networks that reach millions of people around the world. Of the many social networking services on the Internet, from facebook to twitter, now that began much favored by the students is the application path. The theory used in this study is the Uses and Gratification theory which states that the selection and use of media is determined by the audience. The research method in this study uses quantitative research methods with a descriptive approach using questionnaire tool. This study is a population of students who have an account Surabaya Path. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Based on the results and processing of data obtained from questionnaires it can be seen that most of the students in accessing applications motif Path in this study were moderate. This fact shows that the students are basically in need of each access path - each motif is only partially fulfilled. Keywords: Motif, Students, Application Path
