      Abstract

      Surely became active in choosing a media that can be the tools to providing their needs and The "X-Factor Indonesia" is capable to infest the needs of viewers. This program provides information, entertainment, education and social issues. The study using the uses and gratifications theory because the main problem is not how to research change the attitudes and behavior of media audiences, but how the media fulfill the needs of the audience. This multistage cluster random sampling used in withdrawal of samples. Data collection is using a questionnaire with a Likert scale techniques. The samples were rated ages 15-25 of Surabaya viewers who watched the show "X-Factor Indonesia" in RCTI. The results of this study it can be concluded that there are four underlying motive in watching the show "X-Factor Indonesia" in RCTI which are personal identity motives, integration and social interaction motives in the medium category. While the information motives, and motives of entertainment in the high category, because it can fulfill the viewers needs of the presence of fresh humors from funny contestant, and the jokes of the judges, also included the outstanding performances of contestants, and giving a new knowledge of internasional songs.
