Abstract

In academic world, lecturer that posses a good emotional intelligence and good service to students can perform something good in his work situation. In dealing with his daily job routines, a lecturer must be able to perform well aligning with Tri Dhama Perguruan Tinggi. This research had purpose to examine model that described effect of emotional intelligence of lecturers which gave concern to the service behavior to students and work performance in University UPN V jawa Timur . Research model consisted of variables emotional intelligence of lecturers as independent variable, service behavior to students and work performance. The total Questionnaires were about 75 that consisted of male respondents with age between 22 until 53 years for total 30 respondents or 74,67% and woman with age between 22 untill 48 years as many as 35 respondent or 25,33%. It can be concluded in this research that emotional intelligence gave influence to serve behavior to students and lecturers’ performance. This result hopefully can be one of many information sources for management in UPN V jatim to decide policy that can improve quality services.
