Abstract

Television shows at nowaday which has been dominated by programs that like reality shows, soap operas, and infotainment, making Kompas TV want to give a different impression. Through the “Explorer Indonesia”program, we will be invited to know more close and more clearly about the culture at various places in Indonesia. “Explorer Indonesia” is a a kind of documentary program, and the documentary video is the most appropriate media for displaying a reality of cultural in visually and audio. Sasak tribe was the original people that inhabited the island of Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat In the research carried out to obtain information that helps this construct, the author uses qualitative and quantitative techniques as the support. Qualitative techniques are done by interviewing some of the interviewees that can be very helpful to give an overview about this documentary program like Kompas TV Staff, film maker, and Sasak people themselves. For quantitative techniques is carried out by using a questionnaire to obtain information from the target segment as the audience. In addition some of the literature guide is indispensable for knowing the culture of Sasak. There are a lot of beautiful and unique things of the Sasak tribe that interesting to attention in addition to the natural beauty of Lombok Island started from culture, daily activity, and arts. From there, the author can get a keyword "Representation of Uniquely Culture" which means an exposure of a unique culture. The shooting style that refers to the "National Geographich" makes this a little different impressions with other documentary programs. With Packaging the Sasak culture in a documentary video will be a interesting show on the program "Explore Indonesia". Expected by the existence of these show, Indonesia society can know the richness of cultures in Indonesia and are proud to preserve it.
