Abstract

Globalisation has brought great influence in all fields including education . College into a vehicle formation of human resources ready to work and ready to practice was increasingly being challenged to make changes in teaching and learning mechanisms konvensionel as acceleration in the process of quality improvement and educational output . Consequently , the need for the provision of infrastructure capital and operational costs and technology -intensive organizations human resources is increasing. National Development University ( UPN ) " Veteran " East Java , as one of the private universities face the fact that in the Engineering Department UPN own particular conflicts frequently arise among the number of students who dropped out of college , which exceeds the capacity of the target class is ideal , the length of time the study in excess of 4 years, the number of new students majoring not in accordance with the target , the number of teachers who are not in accordance with the ratio of students , there are many students who graduate with a GPA ≤ 3.5 , increase the value of accreditation is desired as well increase the number of faculty who receive research each department . Given the problems with the research conducted using the method of Data Envelopment Analysis ( DEA ) , in the hope it can be seen the efficiency of each department in the Faculty of Industrial Technology and undertake remediation strategies for each department is inefficient . Efficient Engineering Department ie Department of Informatics , Department of Civil Engineering , Department of Environmental Engineering , Department of Industrial Engineering , Department of Architecture , Department of Chemical Engineering and Food Engineering Department with the efficiency value of 1.000000. seventh ranking for the Engineering Department at the University of National Development " Veteran " Java is the Department of Informatics , Department of Civil Engineering , Department of Environmental Engineering , Department of Industrial Engineering and Department of Architecture , Department of Chemical Engineering and Food Engineering Department. The ranking shows that the Department of Informatics has the best relative efficiency of the entire Engineering Department at the University of National Development " Veteran " East Java . Department of Information Systems is in reference to the efficiency improvement guidance , refer to the Department of Information Systems Engineering Department of the Environment because it has the shortest Euclidean distance is equal to 4.16E +12 .
