    Small industrial laundry is one of the fastest growing industries. Small industrial laundry is usually dump wastes into water bodies without any prior pretreatment. This leads to the accumulation of large amounts of phosphate in the body of water that would result in eutrophication, so it needs to look for an alternative treatment in the process of wastewater treatment facilities. Phytoremediation Research phosphate, are determined also decrease other organic substances such as BOD and COD using Wood Apu (Pistia stratiotes) has been carried out in the laboratory using a variable residence time of 2 to 10 days, and the ratio of timber plants per tub apu phytoremediation: 3, 4, 5, 6 , 7 plants / tub phytoremediation. This study aims to determine the reduction in phosphates in laundry waste after phytoremediation process and to find the influence of the residence time and the ratio of plants to decrease the concentration of phosphates in laundry waste. The results showed that the decrease in phosphate concentration of 39.77% in the ratio of the number of timber plants apu 6 plants with a residence time of 8 days. This suggests that the longer the dwell time ratio apu timber plants by the number of different plants - different, and needs enough nutrients then phytoremediation process can run well.
